HOW IT WORKS
The electoral process
The SAMFEC Executive Committee is elected annually at the winter conference. Any student enrolled at a member university and in good standing with their association is eligible to run for office.
The election is conducted by a vote among the presidents of the 13 member associations. The term of office lasts approximately one academic year.

OPEN POSITIONS
Executive roles
PRESIDENT
Responsible for carrying out the Executive Committee’s mandate and ensuring the effective management of the organization. Oversees the organization of conferences, represents the organization, coordinates meetings, and ensures the implementation of internal and external policies.

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
Responsible for managing day-to-day operations and internal administration. Acts as the president’s substitute in his or her absence.

VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE
Oversee financial matters with the competition organizers and members of the organization. Prepare tax reports and manage the investment fund.

VICE PRESIDENT OF COMPETITIONS
Coordinates relations between the organizing committees and SAMFEC. Acts as a spokesperson for the organizing committees, reviews requests from applicant committees, and oversees the financial management of the competitions.

VICE PRESIDENT OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS & COMMUNICATIONS
Responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with external partners and suppliers. Develops a partnership plan, identifies potential new partners, and negotiates contracts. In addition, manages social media, creates content, and maintains the website.

VICE PRESIDENT FOR CONGRESSES
Responsible for ensuring that conferences run smoothly. Designs and organizes conferences, manages related logistics, innovates on existing events, and coordinates conference-related meetings.
